This blog was initially created in an effort to document my experience as an Industrial Designer at The University of Michigan during an experimental collaborative studio course, SmartSurfaces. Just a word on water jetting. Our group has found that the process is excruciatingly slow. I'm not sure offhand what thickness of aluminum we had, but we were cutting fairly large pieces out of a 4x8x(1/16 or 3/16) sheet, and only made it about 1/4 of the way through the cuts in a few hours.
